A polarization filter is fantastic to get rid of reflections in water. Turning the filter slowly gives a sudden view of life under the surface:

A green leafhopper is only 10mm small… But here it is quite a bit larger, thanks to a wonderful macro lens (Sigma 180mm) and the fact that she gave me enough time to adjust the tripod!
