Clouds appear by polarisation

A polarisation filter does a great job getting clouds more pronounced on a photo. In this case, some of the haziness also disappeared:

This picture of a sunny waterfall was made with a very small aperture (F/27) and relative long exposure time (1/15 sec.). A polarisation filter took away most of the “generic” reflections, keeping the ones inside the water drops…

This picture is part of a series on old Diesel engines. It is made with a very sharp old manual focus Pentax lens with no additional processing. The idea to convert it to Black & White was dropped since the red line appeared to contribute very much to the feeling of depth in the picture.
